Phong Nha

Nestled within the rugged peaks of the Truong Son Mountains, Phong Nha is a breathtaking sanctuary where emerald rivers slice through ancient limestone. As a UNESCO World Heritage site, it boasts some of the world's most spectacular underground cathedrals, making it an irresistible magnet for explorers and those yearning for the raw, majestic power of nature.

How to get there?

While Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park is historically associated with Quang Binh province, recent administrative updates and the expansion of the UNESCO-recognized site mean that the gateway to this subterranean kingdom is often accessed through the northern border of Quang Tri Province. To get here from the capital, the Hanoi to Quang Tri route is best served by luxury Limousine cabins or sleeper buses, which cost approximately 550,000 VND to 700,000 VND ($22.00 to $28.00 USD) for a 9-hour journey. For travelers coming from the limestone peaks of the north, the Ninh Binh to Quang Tri route offers comfortable VIP Limousines with prices around 650,000 VND ($26.00 USD). If you prefer speed, you can take a plane to Dong Hoi Airport (the closest hub) and then arrange a private car transfer for about 500,000 VND ($20.00 USD) to reach the park. For a more traditional experience, the Reunification Express train stops at Dong Hoi, with tickets ranging from 400,000 VND to 900,000 VND ($16.00 to $36.00 USD) depending on the class. From the station, private cars or local taxis are readily available to ferry you into the lush landscapes of the national park.
