Hassle free trip from Hanoi to Sapa -VIP bus Me and my siblings were planning to go from Hanoi to Sapa. Till we realized we haven't book our sleeper bus. We searched and came across A21 tours and tried to see if we can still be accommodated provided that the booking was done less than 24 hours. We booked online, and pro actively we have also sent a message in Whatsapp to ensure that once payment is done, we can get the e-ticket confirmation. To our surprise, just around 4-5 hours, they have reached out to us to guide us on the payment process and the issuance of the e-ticket as well. Their swift response was a relief w/our anxiety given the limited time for us. Also, it didn't stopped from just issuing the vip bus e-ticket confirmation but A21 tours consistently checked us from departure to arrival and any other concerns in between. They made sure that the tourists will only get enjoyment, safety and hassle free experience. Highly recommended.

便捷又省心。 这里的评分分布看起来不太好，所以为了公平起见，我想更新一下我的评价，因为我们的实际体验相当不错。 我们是在 2019 年 9 月 29 日 13:30 搭乘 Fansipan Express 从沙坝返回河内。办理登车手续还算顺利——虽然候车的地方是条混乱街道上的一间简陋办公室，但毕竟这是在越南沙坝，完全在预料之中。 车内足够舒适，我身高 1.73 米，腿部空间很充裕。卧铺带有窗帘，私密性很好。 这是一辆大型大巴。从沙坝出发第一个小时，下山往老街（Lao Cai）高速公路的方向路窄且多弯，所以不可能像飞机或火车那样平稳——不过在白天行驶还算OK。一旦上了高速公路，司机就以 100 公里/小时的稳定速度行驶（我用 GPS 测过），一路上没有出现任何惊险时刻。越南整体的驾驶水平普遍挺差的，但我们的司机应对得很好——甚至在遇到两辆卡车停在高速上把两条车道全堵死、其中一辆还在倒车的情况下，他也处理得很沉稳！！！ 不过快进到河内市区时，司机最喜欢的控制键似乎变成了喇叭，我想是因为当时我们大概晚点了 15 分钟。 我们选择这辆大巴，并不是因为预期能躺得有多舒服、能睡个好觉，也不是因为它便宜——纯粹是因为它确实够舒适，而且出发时间非常方便，刚好可以中午 12:00 从酒店退房，然后接上 13:30 的班次。到河内大概需要 5.5 小时的车程——即使你选择坐火车，你第一个小时还是得先坐大巴或出租车下山到老街火车站。如果你带着大件行李或旅行箱，大巴的行李舱空间像所有长途客车一样非常大，直接放进去比拖着行李挤火车要轻松得多。 回程途中大巴停靠了 2 站——那是一些奇怪的开放式超市，卖着一些奇特的商品和给游客的“小商品”。请注意，上厕所需要准备 3,000 越南盾！请务必带一些小面额的纸钞。 老实说，往返沙坝并没有太多其他更好的选择。火车很慢，而且只在夜间开往老街；包私家车又太贵了——而且看到越南的交通路况，我宁愿坐在大客车里！ 另外，我敢肯定这里有些负评绝对是投错了别家巴士。正如主图所示，这辆客车是黑橘相间的，被称为“VIP 包厢大巴”，里面有些内饰照片根本是另一款车。因为它的便利性，我们愿意再次搭乘。
Convenient and easy. The distribution of reviews on here doesn't look good - so in fairness I thought I'd update with my review because our experience was quite positive. We took the Fansipan express from Sapa back to Hanoi on 29/9/19 leaving at 13:30, checkin was smooth(ish) - its a scruffy office on a chaotic street where you wait but this is Sapa in Vietnam after all - so expoected. Bus is confortable enough, Im 1.73m and had plenty of legroom, the berth is private with a curtain. Its a big bus. The road leaving Sapa is tight and twisty for th first hour down to the highway at Lao Cai, so this isnt airplane or train smoothness - however it was fine in the day. Once on the highway the driver drove at a steady 100km/hr (checked with GPS) there didnt seem to be any taumatic moments - the general standard of driving in VIetnam is pretty poor and our driver seemed to cope well - even when you come across 2 trucks stopped on the highway blocking both lanes with one reversing!!! By the time we got into Hanoi the drivers favourite control seemed to be the horn as I think we were running 15min late. We took this bus not because we expected a really smooth comfortable sleep and not because its cheap - its just that it IS comfortable and it leaves at a very convenient time allowing a hotel checkout at midday and then a 13:30 departure. Itys a 5.5hr drive to Hanoi - even if you take the train you have to get a bus or taxi down to Lao Cai for the first hour anyway - if you've got luggage or cases this is easier than dragging onto a train as well - as there was loads of storage space as in all long distance coaches. Coach made 2 stops on way back - strange open sided supermarkets selling some strange stuff alongside touirist 'tat', beware you need 3k dong to pay for the toilets! Make sure you;ve got some small notes. To be honest there isn't much alternative for getting to and from Sapa, trains are slow and go overnight only to Lao Cai, a private taxi would be expensive - and seeing the driving standards in Vietnam I'd rather be on a big bus! Also Im sure some of the more negative views on here are for the wrong bus - this coach as in the main picture is orange and black - its called a VIP cabin bus, some of the pictures of the interior are for a different bus. We would use again because of the convenience.

绝对推荐。舒适的睡眠舱，隐私性极佳。座椅可完全放平。旅途中用iPad追剧非常惬意。其他巴士虽然座椅不错，但缺乏这种私密性。甚至可以轻松并排躺卧。
Absolute aanrader. Comfortabele slaapcabines met veel privacy. Stoel kunnen volledig plat. Gedurende reis heerlijk series op iPad gekeken. Andere bussen hebben wel mooie stoelen maar hebben niet deze privacy. Je kunt zelfs makkelijk bij elkaar gaan liggen

Good。車上的個人隱私空間很好，還配有閱讀燈和 USB 充電座，冷氣也超級給力，硬體方面真的沒話說，哈哈……不過，最大的問題是完全無法溝通。當初預訂從河內到沙垻（Sapa）時，主打車程是 6 個小時，但最後實際上花了 8 個小時才到。特別是在最後一個休息站時，車子整整停了一個小時，卻沒有任何人來向我們說明為什麼停這麼久。如果當時工作人員能稍微主動告知一下原因，整個體驗一定會更好。
Good. 개인공간도 있고 독서등도 있고 usb 충전도 가능하고 에어컨도 빵빵하고 다 좋은데 ㅋㅋ...ㅋㅋ 말이 안 통해요. 하노이에서 사파까지 예약 할 땐 6시간이라고 했는데 8시간이 걸렸고 마지막 휴게소에서는 한시간이나 서 있었는데 왜 서 있는지 말을 안해주더라구요. 그런것만 말 해줬으면 더 좋았을 것 같아요.

Very pleasant journey from SaPa to Hanoi. We travelled on the VIP service from SaPa to Hanoi and despite the largely negative views this was a very pleasant experience. I am 6ft 2 and was comfortable throughout the entire journey. Driving did feel a bit erratic at times and travelling down from SaPa was a little unnerving but that’s par for the course once you decide to bus it instead of getting the train. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again and cannot fault the experience. I have travelled on much worse back home and paid a lot more too. Information was translated into English too regarding stops and arrival in Hanoi which was helpful. Toilet on board was clean, which was impressive considering a lot of people struggle to keep a toilet clean even when they don’t have a moving bus to contend with.

有趣的体验。我坐过很多次卧铺大巴，但Fansipan Express的包厢式卧铺大巴和我以前坐过的所有卧铺车完全不同。其他卧铺车有三排座位，而Fansipan Express的包厢车只有两排。每个包厢都是独立空间，而且相当宽敞。说实话，我特别怕脚臭味。我觉得自己做了最正确的选择。这一路睡得特别好。
INTERESTING EXPERIENCE. I have travelled with sleeping bus many times but Fansipan Express cabin sleeping bus is completely different from all sleeping buses i used to use. With other sleeping bus , there are 3 rows , Fansipan Expres cabin bus has only 2 rows. each cabin is a private cabin and quite large. To be honest, i really scare of foot odor. i think i made a best choice for me. I slept so well.

Buses & Cabin bus

Taking a bus from Hanoi to Sapa is cheaper than flying. Quite often, a long-distance bus is the cheapest transportation option. Buses normally make the bathroom and/or lunch stops along the way.

Things to remember before opting for a bus ride:

  • If possible, make sure to choose higher-class buses for a more comfortable travel experience. Such buses often have an air conditioning system, soft reclining seats, Wi-Fi, bathrooms, etc.
  • As with plane tickets, buses are better booked in advance so that you can secure a good seat.
  • While booking a bus, keep in mind that delays are possible. 

Private car from Noi Bai airport to Sapa

Catching a cab is the easiest way to get from Hanoi to Sapa. It allows you to tailor-make your trip, plan all the detours, and see all the places you want. You can choose the type and the size of your car as well to be as comfortable as you'd like to.

The car can wait for you at the airport in case of a delayed flight and pick you up right upon your arrival. Sometimes, your arrival time at the airport is not ideally matched with the bus/shared van schedule, in this case, a private car would be a good option if you do not want to wait for a long time at the airport.

Depending on the route, it might cost as much as VND 3,700,000.

Things to remember: It's a good idea to follow the route on Google Maps or any other GPS navigator.

Vans

A shared van is another means of transport for traveling from Hanoi airport to Sapa. As far as travel time is concerned, it’s basically equal to a taxi ride, while price-wise it’s way more affordable. The majority of tourists book a van online in advance.

Things to remember: while traveling by van, you might not have as much space for luggage as you would on a train or a plane. It’s a good idea to pack only the most useful things for a van trip and put them in a backpack that will be easy to carry around.
