Huong Pagoda (Perfume pagoda) is not only pagoda - but a complex of temples, pagodas, and shrines on Huong Son Mountain about 70km from the city center and can be reached by motorbike or car in just over an hour.

With its tranquil atmosphere, picturesque scenery, and long-standing historical and cultural value, Huong Pagoda (or Perfume Pagoda) attracts numerous visitors. It is an ideal destination for those seeking serenity, pilgrimage, and exploration of natural beauty.

Suggested Itinerary

One-Day Trip to Huong Pagoda from Hanoi

  • Morning: We will pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi at 8:00 AM. The drive to Huong Pagoda takes approximately 2 hours. Upon arrival at Ben Duc Boat Harbor, the driver will park, and your group will purchase entrance and boat tickets.
  • Boat Ride and Sightseeing: From the harbor, you will board a small boat and cruise along the Yen Stream, visiting Trinh Pagoda and then Thien Tru Pagoda.
  • Exploration: After arriving at Thien Tru Pagoda wharf (where the boat will wait for your return), you will have time to explore Thien Tru Pagoda. From there, you can either trek via a mountain trail to Huong Tich Cave (about 400 meters above sea level, taking roughly 1 hour) or take the cable car for a more comfortable ascent.
  • Return Journey: The return follows the same route: trekking back to the wharf (or using the cable car), boarding the boat to Ben Duc Harbor, and then driving back to Hanoi. You will be dropped off at your hotel in the late afternoon.

One-Day Trip to Huong Pagoda and Quang Phu Cau Incense Village from Hanoi

  • Itinerary Overview: This follows the same schedule as the Huong Pagoda trip above, but on the return journey to Hanoi, the car will detour to Quang Phu Cau Incense Village—a emerging tourist attraction in Hanoi.
  • Village Visit: You will have about 1 hour to explore the village, observe traditional incense-making, and take photos.
  • Return: After the visit, the car will continue to Hanoi, dropping you off at your hotel in the late afternoon.
