Bach Ma National Park

Bach Ma is a vertical garden where the air is eternally crisp. Its allure lies in the misty colonial ruins and the 300-meter cascade of the Rhododendron Waterfall, offering a serene vantage point over the central coastline.

How to get there?

Bach Ma is located in Thua Thien Hue province, and the most reliable way to reach the gate is via a private, climate-controlled vehicle. Depending on your starting point, the route and means of transportation will vary significantly. Here's a detailed guide:

1. From Hue (Closest and most convenient)

Bach Ma National Park is located about 40-60km south of Hue City. If you use motorcycle/Private car, drive along National Highway 1A towards Da Nang. Upon reaching Loc Dien commune (Phu Loc district), you will see a sign directing you to turn right onto the road to Bach Ma National Park (near Cau Hai market). Continue straight for about 15km to reach the park entrance. If you choose bus/private tax, you can take the Hue – Da Nang bus and get off at the Cau Hai bus station, then hire a taxi or motorbike taxi to the park entrance.

2. From Nghe An or Thanh Hoa

Because the distance is quite far (350km - 500km), you should travel to Hue or Da Nang before going to Bach Ma. We recomende you choosing travel by train. This is the safest and most enjoyable way to see the scenery along the way. Take the train from Thanh Hoa or Vinh station to Hue or Lang Co station. Continue from Hue station, rent a motorbike or taxi as instructed in section 1. If you get off at Lang Co station, head north for about 10km to reach the turnoff to the forest.

If you want a faster travel experience, private vehicle like car or motorcycle are not bad option. Drive along National Highway 1A through Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, and Quang Tri to Thua Thien Hue. This section of the journey is quite long, requiring a rest stop in Dong Hoi or Dong Ha before continuing the final leg to Bach Ma. Note that the distance from the forest entrance to the summit (Vong Hai Dai) is approximately 19km, very steep and winding; however, 45-seater buses and motorbikes are not permitted to drive to the summit on their own. You should hire a dedicated shuttle service at the forest entrance (approximately 900,000 VND - 1,000,000 VND per round trip for a group of 8-10 people).
