Overview of Hue

Located in the North center of Vietnam, 92 km to the north of Danang, Hue is a well-known city throughout Vietnam. Even though much smaller than other cities, Hue can be seen as the cultural capital of Vietnam due to its glorious history. Serving as the capital of Nguyen dynasty for around 200 years until the dynasty was thrown in 1945, Hue was constructed with the best materials and architects throughout the country. Hue citadel, therefore, was acknowledged as one of the world's heritage sites thanks to the aesthetic and historical values it is holding. Together with Hue citadel, it wouldn't be complete without mentioning other architectures scattered throughout the city such as Thien Mu pagoda- The holiest one in the region and a series of Nguyen kings tombs. Khai Dinh tomb, the grandest among these, is highly praised for its spectacularly perfect blend of Western style and Vietnamese traditional elements

Along with the architectures, Hue is also famous for its special cuisine, forming its own branch in the food map of VietNam.
