The train from Ninh Binh to Hue is the best transport option on this route. Local sleeper buses, while available, tend to be quite old and bumpy and uncomfortable for long journeys, not suitable for a restful night's sleep. Additionally, since there are no direct flights from Ninh Binh to Hue, travelers still have to travel 130 kilometers (approximately 3 hours) to reach Noi Bai Airport to catch a flight to Hue.

There are 6 Reunification Express trains that run daily from Hue to Hanoi city route, including SE7, SE5, SE3, SE19, SE1 and SE11. It takes about 9-10 hours to travel by train via 550 km route. Reunification Express trains serve 3 kinds of tickets: Soft seat, 6-berth cabin, and 4-berth cabin

  • Although the train routes are exciting, if you are looking for a luxury/European-standard quality train then should lower your expectations before considering the train operated by Vietnam Railways. The system & facility – somewhat – are old with the almost hundred-years-old train tracks and some parts are not well maintained.
  • For more privacy, you should book whole cabin tickets.
  • Passengers should book train ticket from Hue to Hanoi at least 2 days before the departure date to ensure ticket are available.
